Samba Classic Sneaker Oct 23, 2009

Sneakers arrived in good shape, however, fit was not as good as the last several pairs I have purchased. Break-in period was also longer than usual. Not sure if Adidas has changes materials or suppliers, but something is different.
I have worn Sambas for over 20 years. I hope this latest purchase was an exception. Otherwise, I will have to find a new sneaker.

I love my Adidas and needed a new pair for the upcoming semester. I looked around at the stores and on eastbay and stopped when I saw the Samba Classics. I like to wear shoes that are low cut and clean. There were some other Adidas shoes that I would have picked but Adidas decided to put some weird birds and chickens or some other big ugly logo on the shoe which completely threw off the price. These shoes are perfect in almost every way. Clean look. Classy. Agressive styling. Affordable.
I had these shoes for about a week. These shoes run a bit thin so people with wide feet, I advise you to get something else. Other than that, these shoes were a great buy. They are really light weight and has that classic Adidas look that just sets it off from the competition.
How does the shoes feel?
-On the inside it is a cotton like feel. no leather on the heel or anything.
-On the back of the shoe it is a white leather feeling material that has 3 etched lines.
-On the front of the shoe it has a furry little leather feel. It's kind of furry too.
-The entire shoe is completely durable plastic/leather feel. It doesn't feel like rubber or anything.
-The bottom of the shoe feels like what you run on at the trackmeet.

Important point: Adidas shoe sizes are NOT always comparable to american sizes. I wear a 10-size shoe, but when I ordered those in a 10 they were too big! In the end, I returned them and went to a store to buy a 9.5, which fits like a glove! I suggest you go to a sports store to try them on and figure out your size, then buy the cheaper ones online!
Apart from that, the shoe is excellent! They are decent indoor soccer shoes (though a later model of the samba provides slightly better support), considering the pretty low price!
I actually use them as shoes for Kung Fu, and they are really great, because of the flat sole.

I bought these shoes only for dead lifts and squats.
Keep in mind that the sole is hard and there is not much cushion. The show is very narrow. The size runs small. It's best to go a half size up from your normal shoe size. Also this shoe is very stiff. Bending the shoes by hand help break them in some but not much. There is a large arch in the shoes. I was successful in removing it. It's glued underneath the insole.
If I had to do this again, I would go with the Samba K's and a half size larger.
