Definitely would not recommend these for outside use...just too light. Indoors, or for tournament play they may be okay, but not in any kind of breeze at all.

Our children and their friends are pretty rough on birdies when they play "jungle" badmiton in the backyard. These were worth the price since they manage to hold up to the abuse. I didn't give the product 5-stars since I don't know how they'd perform in competition settings.

Mavis 2000 is made to resemble "tournament grade feather shuttle" standard. It is intended for calm in-door conditions while it flies just fine outdoor :). It looks different compare to heavy cousin from badminton outdoor recreational set.

The well know secret, that "tournament grade feather shuttle" standard varies a lot between manufacturers. Mavis trajectory follows closely Yonex AS-50 and lands with-in 1 feet. As feather quickly degrades the deviation will increase. On a weak side, Movis 2000 is a little bit more fragile than most other plastics, but you will not notice this unless you play a lot. From my experience, this is the only shuttle that allows to switch from plastic to feather without loosing couple games.

Mavis 2000 are as good as they are going to get for plastic birds. To be honest, I think they might be only slightly better in flight from the previous verisons - I mean, plastic birds are plastic birds, they can't complete with the feather birds. But the durability must be at least 50% better that Mavis 350. Mavis 2000 are the way to go if you are just looking for fun and not preparing for a competition or anything.
